Something to Write Home About invites the audience to create something right alongside the multi-GRAMMY-nominated Spektral Quartet, penning postcards as they perform an elastic program featuring the music of singularly imaginative composers.


While Bartók re-contextualizes the sonic traditions of his native land in some of the finest string-quartet writing in history, Ligeti gives us chamber music for a future world, as though channeling alien life forms. And both are utterly thrilling.


Enigma, by Anna Thorvaldsdottir and Sigurður Guðjónsson, is a work for string quartet and video art, commissioned by Carnegie Hall, Washington Performing Arts, and Spektral Quartet.
